Son

Son

My 3 yr old hands twist, stiffen and flap when excited - He also jumps up and down a lot. I read some posts on this same topic, however that forum is closed.  My son has been tested for Autism, as the hand flapping is a symptom of that. That has been ruled out by two Child Pyschologists that specialize in Autism diagnosis.  He has been seen by an Occupation Therapist and we have been told it's a sensory integration processing disorder, however there is no therapy prescribed to help with this. He has a delay in writing skills, but that is the only thing they are addressing.  He flaps and gets very spastic with his hands when he is excited, or seeing trains, wheels, and etc. He loves to bounce, and I really worry because it's odd looking and the kids are starting to notice.  His hands almost look like he has palsy for a second when he is in a flapping mode. It's like his body can't handle the stimulation of moving things or the overall excitment.  Thanks
