Soulder problems leading into rest of arm.

Soulder problems leading into rest of arm.

I'm a runner for my college and I was diagnosed with thoracic outlet syndrome this past summer. Well the other day I had a really hard practice, we had ran sprints, well when i was done on both hands my ring finger and pinky finger were numb. Later on that goes away, but while i was in my dorm, only on the left hand my pinky and ring finger went numb again. The feeling doesn't want to come back, they are much colder then the rest of my hand, they keep randomly like tingles, and now like the side of my hand is twitching. I was just wondering if I should see someone about this or just go to the athletic trainer for it.

Hi,

Hope you are feeling better.
It is possible that your symptoms are due to thoracic outlet syndrome. Compression of the brachial plexus at the base of neck as the nerves enter the arm pit and arm can cause pain and numbness in the arm and hands. This usually occurs in athletes and more commonly in women between 20-50 years of age. Please take rest and consult your doctor about this. Take care!
