Spastic Leg

Spastic Leg

I have a clinical diagnosis of a demyelinating disease associated with Multiple Sclerosis since 2003 This question is not so much related to MS but with back pain.  In January of 2008 I was transported to the hospital with a diagnosis of Lumbosacral Radiculopathy. As of today, I have been doing better except for a relapse I had this Wednesday..I had a very deep pain in my left hip/thigh region.  I started a 6 day pack of predisolone and the pain has subsided.  Currectly, my left leg is very spastic and has a mind of its own. My neurologist thinks this is coming from my back instead of a MS flare.  I bought a inversion table in January which I love and it has made my back feel great.  Could this have caused the spastic leg problem that I am experiencing currently?

Hello.

The symptoms have started after you have got the inversion table. It may be making the back comfortable, but I do feel it may be pressing on some nerves.

Have you got an EMG recently to note which nerve is dysfunctional?

The possibility of an MS flare up should also be considered, since the pain has subsided with the medicine. But the medicine can act generally on neuropathic pain.
