Spasticity? Eyes? And, Happy Thanksgiving...

Ok, I have questions...My ankles are stiff, to the point where at times they interfere with my ability to walk smoothly...I mean, they're STIFF like they have arthritis or something (but I don't have arthritis) and there seems to be a band-like feeling around my ankle, like a cuff.  My feet have pins and needle sensations constantly (I'm so tired of noticing my feet...) and it's superficially numb.  Now- I read about spasticity, however from what I gather it's a knee or hip stiffness.  Mine's ankles.  Is that what it is?  And, I'm recovering from Optic Neuritis.  (I'd like to call it Optic Neurosis...just cuz that's how it seems to feel emotionally) Anyway, I'm having eye pain (no vision loss, etc) on and off in the same eye.  Is that normal for the recovery process?  It's been three months.  My eyes are so sensitive to light too.
Happy thanksgiving, eat lots of turkey and enjoy your families.  Thanks for all your wonderful help!!! If you only knew how much it makes us feel better to get answers to our questions, you'd do this FULL-TIME.   :)  :)

Thank you for the good wishes Sherry, the encouragemnet means a lot !
As regards the spasticity issue, this is most frequently reported in the context of stiffness of the knees and ankles but in fact it can apply to any part of the body, spasticity really refers to spasms which can occurr in any muscle group, from the bladder to the limbs.
There are a number of treatments available in the from of medications, and local injections of botox which forces local muscle groups to relax if the spasticity is very isolated.
As regards optic neuritis the cardinal feature is blurred vision, there is also pain especially when looking up ,as this particular position places greater traction on the nerve. Your symptoms are therefore not entirely typical and i would suggest that you have this rechecked just in case there is something else going on, optic neuritis should have settled down at this point so this is important.
