Spinal Cord Sensation

I guess my problem started a few weeks ago with headaches that lasted for 5 days. The headaches weren't that painful, but one day me left harm went numb so I went to the ER and got a CT scan of the head, which came back negative. I also got a MRI of the head and it was negative as well.

Then, I started to develop some minor back pain in the spine. I thought this was a bit odd since I am only 21. I got an MRI of both the lower and upper back and that came back negative. Now, the pain is mostly gone but I still have strange sensations in my spine, which often keep me up at night. I also sometimes get dizzy.

Can you give me some ideas about what this is? I am pretty sure there is something wrong with me, but I already had MRIs so I don't know what else I can do.

Hi, Thank you for your question. I think your symptoms may be due to nerve irritation in the cervical (neck) spine because of cervical disc bulge. This pain may be referred and perceived as occurring in the back of head & shoulders (as electric sensation)- LHERMITTES SIGN, arms or chest, rather than just the neck. Other symptoms may include vertigo, nausea (dizziness) and stiffness. It will be best that you consult a neurologist who would like to prescribe Pain killers, steroid and muscle relaxants. Other treatments could be cervical orthosis such as a soft cervical collar or stiffer neck brace to restrict neck movement till you get complete recovery. In addition, cervical traction may also be suggested by the doctor, if condition is severe. Hope this helps.

I also wanted to add that my MRI of the Lumbar and Cervical came back negative. Also my tingling sensation occurs in the hands and feet. Lastly, I wanted to add that I really don't have much pain anymore, just an incredibly strange sensation in the spine.

Thanks.

Thanks so much for your reply. I was just wondering if an MRI would pick that up, because I had an MRI of the Lumbar and Cervical. I should also mention that I sometimes have a tingling sensation. Regardless, I think I should see a neurologist as you suggested.
