Spinal Fusion Mishap???

Spinal Fusion Mishap???

I am a 20 year old undergrad. who is interested in pursuing medicine as a
career.  One of the events in my life that has influenced this decision
was the spinal fusion surgery that was performed on me when I was 13 years
old.  This operation was done in attempt to correct scoliosis that had
bothered for over 6 years.  The procedure was, thankfully, a success,
or so I thought...
The years proceeding my surgery (as I progressed through puberty) I noticed
a type of asymetry forming in the musculature in my back.  Although the
physical pain caused by this is minimal, it is cosmetically disturbing, and
I am wondering if it a consequence of a botched surgery?  There was no
detectable asymetry before my operation, but I was very young and
underdeveloped (only 13) then.  Is this type of disfigurement common in
males (particularly ones who lift weights [not professionally or anything!])
after surgery and puberty?  My work in the neurosurgical dept. at Baylor
College of Medicine has left me suspicious of the effects here.  Any input
would prove invaluable.
                                      Thanks for your time,
