Spinal Instability

I was injured on the job 8 years ago, I herniated a disc at the L2 L3 level which caused a nerve impingement. Before I could have surgery I had very severe atrophy of my upper right thigh and buttock. The MRI showed the bulged disc and some degenerative disc disease. The last couple of years my back has begun to hurt more and more especially when I sit for a long period of time, recently when I went for a massage the masseuse said she thought the muscle on the right side of my lumbar spine area had some atrophy and that it looked like my spine was getting a slight curve to the left.
My question is could the damaged nerve that caused the atrophy in my right thigh and buttock now be causing the muscle in my back to atrophy causing my spine to get a slight curve and also causing me all of the discomfort I'm having.

Hi there. The pinched nerve most probably caused the muscle atrophy in thigh and buttock and spinal curvature to the left. Herniated disc impinged on the nerve at L2/3 level. Get a repeat MRI scan spine done to check if any disc degeneration or prolapsed at higher level causing back muscles atrophy. Consult a neurosurgeon immediately as this lateral curvature may also affect your posture, gait and respiration. Take care.
