Strange Sensory Problems

I have been suffering forabout 10 years with occasional night time dizziness, ear pain pressure, feeling like I need to pop my ears, and like my head would burst type of episodes. I have had 2 MRI's in the last 10 years which have been normal, the last one being May of "06.  I have also had 2 severe episodes with benign vertigo where I was nauseous, vomiting, whole room spinning, etc. For several months I have been experiencing internal tremoring and I can break in down into 3 kinds.  1- feeling like my entire body is tremoring at the same time up and down upon waking at night or in the morning, 2-internal tremoring (not seen ) moves from place to place (feel eyes, legs, arms, head, etc.) 3- internal fine tremors that start from my feet and move like a wave up my body, eventually encompassing my entire body
these tremors come and go, but have never completely left since Feb.  I have an eye issue that I believe is originating in my brain, as my eye exam 2 months ago was normal.  Highly patterned objects like blankets or rugs seem to be vibrating when I look at them...the optometrist said that can be normal with flat things, but I also find that the edges of objects, or raised parts of things are vibrating as well.  This is not occuring on just flat highly patterned objects.  I see this on curtain edges, folded laundry, blankets laying not completely flat, bristles on brushes, plastic wrap not completely flat, stacked cd's, even some print and parts of photos.  It seems almost like a guitar string is being plucked but only on the edges, or on parts of the object, the whole object itself does not move. I have been having episodes of ear pain and pressure, feeling like I am going to black out (never doing so yet) , ear popping feeling, rubbery legs, and tremoring internally all together recently, almost like they are all connected.  When I saw my Dr about the tremoring, he seemed to think it was anxiety related, but he is a new Dr, and I didn't tell him about my history of vertigo, ear issues.  I have an apt with him tomorrow, but I would also like some advise as to what this may be.  I am so frightened it is something serious.

Hi there.

Your symptoms are quite complex, however, here are some ideas.  The visual symptoms that you have may indeed be due to problems with the visual processing center of the brain (the occipital lobe) which in turn be a sign of demyelinating diseases such as MS.  The most common causes for this however, is still stress and lack or inadequate sleep.  It is hard to say definitely if the ear issues and the vertigo may be related to this visual problem.  Another possible cause is micronutrient deficiency that can be affecting the normal nervous conduction of these sense organs (like vitamin B deficiency).  I suggest that you discuss these possibilities when you meet with your doctor and I hope that the visit will be fruitful.

Regards and God bless.
