Strange headache

Strange headache

My question is about headaches that I have had recently on the right front (top) side of my head that I am concerned about since I don't have a lot of headaches. Plus, periodically I will just have a jolt of pain in the same area. Should I be concerned about possible anuerysm, stroke, etc. I am female, 52 years old. The only other sympton is that my right hand and arm will sometimes get numb but this had been going on for several years. I just do the airplane effect with my arm and the numbness will go away. Thank you.

Headaches can occasionally be the presenting symptom for an aneurysm, and the pain is actually caused by blood leaking from the aneursym. Therefore, if these headaches are new, and severe in quality I would recommend calling your doctor as soon as possible and consider having this evaluated. If you develop a constant headache or other neurologic symptoms, I would recommend going to the ER. Otherwise, these most likely represent some form of headaches which your doctor can evaluate and begin treating. Good luck.
