Strange symptoms skin and bone pain!

It seems back in 1989 when my son was born is when the pain started.  I experienced pain to the touch in my low back.  I just shrugged it off as a side effect of the epidural.  Nineteen years later, I still have this pain but now it is all over my body....my low back, my ribs, my thighs and shoulders.  This pain in my low back is not only when I touch the area, but it's also a deep stabbing pain.  I have seen orthopaedic surgeons and have had extensive x-rays, MRI's, cat scans only to come back with absolutley nothing wrong.  But SOMETHING is WRONG!

When I touch the areas mentioned above, it feels as though my skin is severely bruised but with a sharp pain going straight to the bone.  Like a knife is stabbing me.  In the past I was prescribed Vicodin short term which did help with the back, but because Vicodin is habit forming, I chose not to continue treatment.  I feel as though it is nerve related and have wondered if just maybe it is Fibromyalgia.  I am not exactly sure what type of Physician Specialist to see, but the pain is getting worse not better.  Can you please offer me an opinion and a starting point?  I just don't know how much more pain I can take.  Thank you very much for your time!

I have the exact same problem..along with contstant muscle fatigue.   I see a rheumotologist for my fibromyalgia.. who says these are all symptoms of Fibro..  He has prescribed provigil, plaquinil, voltaren and just recently lyrica. They seem to help take the edge off ...  I hope this helps you!

Hello.

The commonest complication of epidural analgesia is chronic low backache. But your symptoms are different. They are actually not fitting into the scheme of neurological pain.

But if you have not yet consulted a Neurologist, please do so. Only after a clinical examination can one come to a diagnosis.

Regards
