Sudden Onset Leg Numbness

Hello - I tried to stand up about 5 minutes ago and could not walk. I thought at first my foot was asleep.  It has now been five minutes and these are still the symptoms.  Lower left leg from the knee down is completely numb.  The muscles don't even work, i.e. I have tried to walk and my foot buckles inward.  I feel absolutely nothing.  There is no pain and there was no warning.  I'm not quite sure what to do.
