Swollen Ankle

by Qistina, Dec 18, 2007 02:41AM
Hai, I have been having this swollen in my left ankle and foot for the past 1 year. It’s painless and it comes and goes but not totally.  It doesn't affect me at all until a few weeks ago I feel a slight pain on and of and its also tight and heavy.
When I first realized that my lest ankle is swollen I went to the doctor and one of the doctor told me that my uterus was slight enlarged. But after going through a few scans and test I was cleared from all. Could you advise, it’s really worrying me. I am 33 years old single.

Hi,

Swelling could be peripheral edema. It can occur due to sitting for prologed period of time due to pooling of blood.I would suggest you to keep stretching your leg and do not sit in one position for too long.If the swelling gets worse please consult a physician. Also get your thyroid checked.
