Swollen/Tight feeling in hands when laying down

For the past couple months, whenever I lay down my hands start to feel swollen but aren't swollen at all. They have a tight/thick feeling to them and they feel almost dry even when my hands are sweaty. So I put lotion on my hands repeatedly all night just to be able to deal with the bothering sensation, but it can sometimes keep me awake all night and I sometimes wake up from the feeling in the morning.  Any ideas on what this could be from?
