Swollen hand muscles with severe re-occurring cramps

I keep having Swollen muscles in my hands with severe recurrent cramping.
I was @ one time diagnosised with sero-negative R.A. but my blood work etc
makes my Rheum. doctor to believe I do not have R.A.
She is currently at a loss as to what's going on.

I have a slightly elevated Western Sed. rate ( 87), and I am on oral
Prednisone (.7) once a day. It does help, but the hand cramping
is becoming more and more frequent, to the point the only thing
that helps is running hot water over them and sipping tonic water.

I am not sure where/what to do next.

What are the AST, Calcium and Potassium counts/levels?

Have you had a Nerve Conduction Study?

CRP is C-reactive protein.  It raises in response to inflammation.

This sounds neuromuscular in nature, but the cause I am not sure about.

My R.A. factor is 7. I take a supplement for both Calcium( Citracale w/ Vit. D.) and Potassuim( Klor-Con)
I did show an elevated WBC 12.61. along with the W. Sed rate elevation.
Hep B & C where negative, Also in a lab panel labeled
Hep Function Panel, I do show an elevated AST?  Not sure what you mean
by the CRP.

Rheum said she doesn't believe this is R.A. as x-rays show no joint damage
in my hands and wrists.  Have had a EMG ( the nerve test) to see if there is
nerve damage. So far none. But the cramping occurs no matter what I seem to do.

What is your RA Factor level?

Any other abnormal labs, i.e. Magnesium, Potassiun, Sodium, Calcium?
