Hai, I have been having this swollen in my left ankle and foot for the past 1 year. It’s painless and it comes and goes but not totally.  It doesn't affect me at all until a few weeks ago I feel  pain on and of and its also tight and heavy.
When I first realized that my left ankle is swollen I went to the doctor and one of the doctor told me that my uterus was slight enlarged. But after going through a few scans and test I was cleared from all. Could you advise, it’s really worrying me. I am 33 years old single.

This could be peripheral edema. What tests and scans did you undergo? Was an ECG and chest Xray done?
Prolonged standing, being overweight, injury, insect bite, long flights, infections, cardiac diseases, kidney problems can cause ankle swelling.
Do you have any other symptoms like shortness of breath or decreased urinary output or fever?
You can try exercising and elevating your leg and eating low salt diet and see if these help.

How old are you? Did you injure your ankle prior to appearance of symptoms? Is the swelling only present in the left ankle? Does the swelling resolve when you lie down for some time and raise your foot? If you press on the swelling, does the pressed on part stay for a moment (pitting edema) or does it immediately go back to its normal size?

Painless swelling at the ankle may be a sign of edema and can be caused by many conditions including ankle sprain, cellulitis, vascular disorders, lymphatic disorders, kidney diseases, lymphedema, rheumatoid arthritis, etc.

You should talk to your doctor for evaluation of these other causes of your symptoms so that it can be managed properly.
