Syringomyelia Questions

Hello. I was recently diagnosed with Syringomyelia when my legs and arms both collapsed twice in a four hour time span. My back has been hurting a lot and my headaches are getting more severe.  The surgeon is going to go over options with me on the surgery since it is so risky. I have no idea how long I have had this, but I've had headaches for over 3 years. With the symptions I'm having, I am afraid that I am starting to reach the severe symptoms of the disease and I'm not sure what to expect next.

May I ask if u were checked for chiari , tethered cord or pusedotumor cerebri?

It is important that u get in to see a chiari specialist as they also deal with syringomyelia as well....I hope u join us in the chiari forum.

You have to have courage and patience to understand the type of neurosurgery which would help you.
It is very difficult to you as you had symptoms from last 3 years, as you could bravely hold on i think you should go ahead for treatment and also your neurosurgeon will give you the best possible way of surgery.
