TIA OR MS

TIA OR MS

Hi. I am a 29 year old female and I am highly concerned about what I am experiencing. About two weeks ago I had slept on my left hand in an awkard position for about an hour, when I woke up I was unable to move my fingers on my left hand at all. It was like they were paralyzed. After a few seconds of rubbing them, movement returned. The next day I felt the difference between my right and left hand, my left hand seemed a little weaker. I was able to move my fingers but my arm felt weak and heavy at the same time. The heaviness lasted for about four days and on the fifth day my toes on ly left foot began to tingle a little. At this point I went to the emergency room and found out my blood pressure was really high. 180/95, they gave me blood pressure meds and admitted me because they were concerned about my blood pressure. I had an MRI/ C-SCAN and bloodwork done. Everything came back normal. I then saw my pcp who told me that I could have been experiencing a severe anxiety attack and that he doubted it was a TIA (mini stroke) and even if it was the results would not have shown on the MRI or CSCAN because I waited too long in between my fingers not being able to move and going to the hospital. Basically I went to the ER five days later. They do not know how to explain to me what happened and I really would like to hear if anyone else has experienced something similar? Was this  a mini stroke? If it was will I have a major stroke or can I prevent it by changing my diet, taking my bpmeds and exercising? thanks in advance and I would greatly appreciate any info because I am scared.

I've had my arm/hand/fingers 'fall asleep' many times from sleeping on them in an odd position or cocked up under a pillow. I've never been diagnosed with MS from those symptoms.
IF you do not get your BP down it CAN cause a stroke. You appear to have a good doctor. Stay with him/her and do what they suggest. Diet and exercise may be in order, but let the docs follow and advise you.
