TIA or intracranial pressure?

TIA or intracranial pressure?

Can some one please help me with this? I have IIH/PCT.Very high presure. Had a VP shunt fitted in Dec08 but pressure still in the 30s and  I also have papillodema in both eyes. I am now wanting to have second VP shunt fitted if the ventricles are "open" sufficiently to operate.
On Fri morning, woke with a blinding headache, not the usual high pressure hd, in the front right of my head. Took painkillers which helped.I also felt a bit confused and disorientated. Toward the evening,5.30pm, I realised that I couldnt speak properly. I was slurring, couldnt pronounce M or C words, was saying sentences back to front and skipping words. This lasted 3 hrs and 15 mins. It stopped as quickly as it started. I was very tired durning the episode.
I saw a dr who,after exam and medical history, felt it was as a result of too much pressure and that it had "sifted" to the language part of the brain.I was sent to the A+ E dept of the hospital where they did bloods and a CAT scan. Both negative. Their conclusion; a TIA.
My biggest concern at the moment is that they are going in the wrong direction with a diagnose of a TIA. They have arranged for me to see a new neuro, one who deals with TIAs rather than my own neuro who is marvellous but deals with my IIH.
I feel this is taking me away from the real problem, which is the high pressure, and dealing with something I feel they have "pigeon holed" me with.
Some further information;
I am 48yrs. Female.
Slightly over weight.
Normal blood pressure on presentation but taking meds for  high blood pressure.
High cholesterol.
Family history.( Mother had TIA at 74yrs,)
I hope some one can please help me.I am seeing the new neuro in two days.Thanking you,Cath278.
