In the 1960's after 10 years of tic pain, I was given Tegretol, Medrol, Dilantin,
and Tolseram (all at the same time).  I stayed on the first two meds
a week and on Dilantin and Tolseram two years. I became painfree
immediately, and remained painfree for 25 years.  Four years ago the
pain returned.  I took Tegretol three years and had no pain.  Then it
became ineffective.  Now I'm on Dilantin and Baclofen, and it is easing
the pain somewhat.  Since the four drugs I used before were so effective,
I'd like to try them again.  The problem:  Tolseram is no longer available
and I can't find a druggist or doctor who has heard of it.  Do you have
a resource that would provide info, or can you tell me where I could look?
Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated.

Carolyn,

Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, I also have never heard of Tolseram and am unable to find it in several major pharmaceutical tomes, leading me to suspect it is extinct!!! You might want to try the Trigeminal Neuralgia Association and see if anyone there has heard of it or knows where/if it is currently available. Their phone number is (609)-361-1014; ask for Claire Patterson. Good Luck--- and let us know if you find out if you have time.
