my questions are:
If they are TIA's....why does he keep having after-effects? Is anyone experiencing the same problem....
If it is not the hole in his heart that was causing his so-called-TIA's....then what could be the cause of this.....
Could he have had several strokes and they are not showing on the MRI?
The doctors dont give us the answers..they dont know...
signed,
perplexed and scared...
Your question is apt. A TIA by definition should not last for more than 24 hours. But there have been instances where some patients kept on having the after effects. There may be called as persistent symptoms. An MRI should pick up any infarcts.
If the infarcts are deeper in the brain tissue, they may not be obvious to untrained eyes on MRI. The deeper a lesion is, the less area it has to cover to produce symptoms.
Was the ECHO cardiography recording done? Did it mention any clots in the heart?
