Hi there. There is a possibility of having tourette’s syndrome and epilepsy at the same time. Both have different etiologies. Tics could be caused by side effects of medications. Consult your neurologist for an evaluation of your child.  He may be taking overdose of a drug, the wrong drug or a wrong combination of drugs. Seizures happen when the electrical system of the brain malfunctions and fires uncontrollably causing unconsciousness and muscle contractions. Tourette’s syndrome is a neurological disorder characterized by repetitive, stereotyped involuntary movements and vocalizations called tics. You must check with a pediatric neurologist for more details and speculations. Take care.
