Throbbing in the head

I have been having throbbing in the head with NO pain for about 10 days. I am 80 years old and have taken meds for high cholesterol and high blood pressure for well over 1 year and did not have this problem.  My cholesterol med was changed 6 days ago but this throbbing existed before that. Except for arthritis for which I take Etodolac, I am in otherwise good health.  Thank You!

Hi,

How are you? Are there other signs or symptoms present? How is your blood pressure lately? This could be due to uncontrolled blood pressure or could also be migraine which begins with  throbbing pain on one side of the head. Nausea, vomiting, lack of appetite, sensitivity to light or sound, chills, pallor and visual disturbances are usually associated with this. Resting in a dark room may help. If it persists,  it would be best to see your doctor for further evaluation and management. Take care and keep us posted.
