Tickling in the pinky finger

I had an accident recently and had to remove a glass piece from my right hand palm, below last 2 fingers.
I had 3 Stitches and doctors already removed them. But I still have numbness after 3 months in the pinky finger and it feels cold compared to other 3. Also tip of the pinky finger hurts. I also feel tickling in the pinky finger.
Doctors suggested surgery to fix the digital nerve but is it worth it?
What exactly is going on? I have sensation and i can also move that finger. Its just the tip that hurts.
Thanks

Hi,
Nerve regeneration is a slow process . It may take from 6 months to 1 yr . Working with the affected part does not slow the regeneration . Take care and regards !

Hello Dr.
How long should I wait?
Nerve regeneration is usuallu slow? If so how slow?
Also amount of work I do with my right hand affects regeneration, timewise?
Thanks for your help.
