I am afraid there is not enough information available on either of your problems to come up with a definite diagnosis in either case, however I definitely feel that they are not related, since there is no overlap in

Nerve conduction velocity supply between the two locations. depwending on the precise location the left lower back pain could be due to disc disease, sacri-iliac joint disease or even be related to kidney problejms since kidney pain can be felt in this general
area.
I would suggest that if this continues you should be checked out by an internist who can take an overall look at your probelsm and then recommned investigations from a neurological, rheumatological or other perspective.
