Tingling in calves and feet adn headaches

by uptowngirl110, Jun 17, 2007 12:00AM
I am a slender built 29 year old female and began suffering from uncomfortable sensations about two months ago. They  began right around the time I began to have major marital problems and a change in jobs. I first went to the DR complaining of stress and possible depression,as well as pain in my shoulder and tingling in my hand. An Xray was performed and an MRI ordered, I never had the MRI. The Xray was normal. About three weeks later I woke up with tingling feeling on my cheek, part of my arm and my leg and foot, all on the left side.  I went to the ER, a CAT scan was done with a normal finding. Most of the tingling sibsided within a few days. With the left foot and calf remaining. I saw a neurologist who performed an MRI with dye, Nerve Conduction on my left side, brainwave test, ANA and other blood tests. All tests came back normal. I also had a echocardiogram and stress test. They found a very mild mitral valve prolapse.  Because of these symptoms I have felt even more stressed and began experiencing panic attacks. This began in April and I am currently experiencing tingling and muscle twitches in my calves, lower legs and feet, now on both sides. I have occasional muscle twitches around my mouth and eyelids. I have a headache almost daily. I sometimes feel light headed which I believe is caused by the anxiety. I currently take 15mg of remeron and have been doing so for about 4 weeks with some improvement in my anxiety and less worry about the physical symptoms.  It should be noted that I also have a thin white coating on my tongue, but no other symptoms that would indicate Candida. The tingling has not progressed or worsened in 1 month and on some days is completely gone. Is there anything else I should be tested for? Is it possible that all of these vague symptoms have been brought on or caused by stress and anxiety? Have you ever heard of anxiety and stress causing these types of symptoms?

You have candida! I have the same symptoms which go away almost immediately after taking a candida supplement found in a health store. All symptoms go away but then return when I consume a high sugar diet and stress. Vitamim c helps. Being very athletic and healthy my whole life, I had a few anxiety attacks after having these symptoms and not knowing why. Numbness in left hand, foot, tingling only in left leg. sinusitis, fatigue. Put yourself on a strict candida-free diet and take supplements to free yourself of candida. The natural approach is so much better than medications which don't solve, just mask the symptoms. Try yoga, stretches, jogging, lots of water, etc. Take care of your body and stop worrying. Good Luck. I was there and it works!! PS it may take a little longer if you have candida really bad. Be patient. Do lots of research on candida you'll see all of your symptoms.

These symptoms also indicate a B12 deficiency...believe it or not.  See if your blood work has a B12 level result.  Even if it is not below range, if it is stll on the lower end, it can cause many of the sympotms you are having.  You can try B12 supplements from the store, but sometimes they are not absorbed well enough by the body, and you need to have monthly injections.  Ask your doc to run the test if he hasnt yet.
Also, YES - anxiety and stress can cause most of the symptoms you have as well...and, as nrrbjh noted, systemic candida can as well.
I hope you find your answers soon and feel better
