Tingling in legs

I am very heavy at 27 stone, but I am trying to lose weight. The problem I have is that my legs tingle a lot, like a hot pain or electrical pain, and the less I exercise the less tingling. This is annoying as I need to exercise. I have started going for a 30 minute walk each day, including steep hills, but everytime I get back home afterwards my legs tingle so much it is very uncomfortable. If I don't do exercise for a couple of days the tingling has virtually fully gone, but once I walk far again then back it comes again. This tingling lasts for hours to days, this is why it is so annoying. I can either stay fat and not exercise but be very comfortable, or I can do exercise to lose weight and put up with being very uncomfortable.

Here is the exact feeling : Both legs, a whoosing, tingling, prickly burning feeling. Mainly from knees and below (to feet) but sometimes sensation creeps up to thighs and lower back and groin. Worse when sitting but felt at all times. The only times I don't feel it is when I wake up in the morning after sleeping, but as soon as I get up and move, back it comes (although it is not as bad as it is after I have a outdoor walk).

I have suffered on and off from tingling legs since 2002. The first time I got it was when I had a daily hot bath, I would get out of the bath and my legs would tingle badly. Then when I went to bed my legs felt like they had electrical devices plugged to them. I decided to change to showers and also changed my bed, this made everything great for a year, but then the tingling came back for a few weeks at a time, then would vanish. For the last year I had been perfect, I could walk and had no tingling, it is only in the last month that it has come back yet again. I just don't know what to do, as I need to exercise to lose weight, but this uncomfortable "pain" is putting such a damper on things and it is going to put me off.

Any idea what it could be ? Is it my weight pushing down on my legs ? Any idea why when I wake up from sleeping the tingling has completley gone until I get out of bed ?  Thanks for any afvice.

I would make an appt with a neurolgist.  It is not normal to have tingling in your extremities.  Have you had any testing done?
