Tongue Popping

Suffered CVA a few years ago, very few lingering problems.  Ischemic infarct.
The last few months my partner says I've been "popping" my tongue while sleeping.  Other than this being a really annoying thing for him to deal with (he says it sounds just like rythmic water dripping and  it doesn't matter if he tries to wake me up, that I just move over and persist for a few minutes), I'm not sure if this is of concern.  I laugh every time I think of talking to my doctor and telling him, "Hey...what does it mean if I sound like leaky plumbing and I'm not aware of it."
This seems like a really, really stupid question.
But I hesitate, and wonder if there is an underlying neurological problem from the stroke.
And ideas?
