Transverse Myletis

Transverse Myletis

I have been suffering with TM for a year. I get chronic pains and numbness in my feet and legs. I have no feelings in the area of the urine and bowel movements. I just wanted to know if it is reversible or curable.

Hi,

Transverse myelitis (TM) is a neurological disorder caused by inflammation of a segment of the spinal cord.  This may be attributed to viral infections or vaccinations and has also been associated with spinal cord injuries, immune reactions, schistosomiasis and insufficient blood flow through spinal cord vessels.

Treatments are designed to manage the symptoms. Recovery from transverse myelitis usually begins between weeks 2 and 12 following onset and may continue for up to 2 years in some patients. However, some patients show no signs of recovery. If  treated early, some patients experience complete or near complete recovery.
You can read more about this through this link:

Take care and regards.
