Trazadone (Desyrel)

Trazadone (Desyrel)

I am taking 100 mgs. of trazadone for sleep. However, I have the
impression that it is producing muscle cramping in my arms and
hands. Is this a common side effect and is it dangerous?

It is an unusual side effect. However, the PDR states that perhaps 5% of patients taking Desyrel (trazodone) experience some muscular aches and pains. Cramps per se are not listed in the side effects table.
I would not expect this to be dangerous. However, if you experience weakness or if the symptom persists, I would have it checked out.
