Treatment for GBM

I've read a good deal of speculation regarding links to Glioblastoma Multiforme and ionizing radiation. Something I don't quite understand: if there is a possible link, why is ionizing radiation typically used to treat GBM? I'm curious, because my husband was recently diagnosed and had resection. He's in the Army Reserves and did a tour in Afghanistan in 2004. His first seizure occurred while he was on weekend reserve duty. We are attempting to establish some sort of credible link between his cancer and significant amounts of ionizing radiation he was exposed to in Afghanistan (depleted uranium, Warlock jamming systems for starters). Any help in understanding the good, bad and ugly of ionizing radiation in GBM would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. --Cal

My brother recently was Dx with Glioblastoma multiform and had a tennisball size tumor removed. Is Tomothearpy  an option? The  tumor was located on the right side of his head, and the doctor said he probably has 11 to 13 months to live.
