When I awoke this morning I felt a strange sensation as though I was standing on something that was vibrating. Then I noticed when brushing my teeth that my lower jaw was trembling and when I put my teeth end to end they would actuallt chatter. I bit down slightly on my finger to see if it would stop and it did momentarily.
Also, Left leg has numb feeling from mid calf down. Any ideas as to why this may be happening? Brain MRI on Tues was normal.
I have posted in the past, have neurogenic bladder (3 1/2 years, complete retention), migraine-epilepsy syndrome, thoracic outlet syndrome. These were past diagnosis and i'm currently seekeing second opinion but the process is long.
Thank You for any help you can offer.
Hard to say what this is from. Sometimes we suspect Parkinson's Disease in patients with jaw tremor (as opposed to tremor affecting the entire head about the neck, which usually is Essential Tremor). However, your situation is complicated, judging from the other diagnoses you have.
But there are many causes of tremor.
You may wish to see a tremor specialist (actually, a movement disorders specialist). That individual can check you for any signs of Parkinson's Disease (tremor isn't enough to make the diagnosis).
You are welcome to call 800 223-2273 and ask for neurology appointments at 4-5559. Tell them you want a movement disorders specialist. I hope this helps. CCF MD mdf.
