I am 49 years old. I have been experiencing tremors
for a few years now. Mainly when I am tired or hungry.
My M.D. cals them Nuero Tremors and said I should not be concerned as they do no indicate a prediciton for Parkinsons etc..

Your condition has many symptoms which suggest a more system wide problem. Things to consider include inflammatory disorders such as lupus, polymyalgia rheumatica (although unusual at your age), sarcoid, Sjogren's, and other connective tissue diseases. Your mucle enzymes should be checked to help exclude muscle disease. I can not place the isolated Normetanephrine abnormal level. Usually other metabolites are checked as well, and this level needs to be considered with the others.
Depending on what the neuro doctor finds they may do an EMG (muscle and nerve test) or possibly recommend a spinal tap. Another simple test is to make sure that your blood pressure does not drop when you stand up. Good luck.

Have the neuro order a blood test for hyperthyroid.
The white spots might be calcium deposits. When you are magnesium deficient, calcium gets into places it does not belong. I believe that I read that calcium deposits will be reabsorbed when magnesium is working properly, but I can no longer find that site.
Try not to worry, the last thing you want to do is go back to being magnesium deficient.

By the way, the endocrinologist gave me a whopping three minutes of her time, ordered the blood test, and then ran off. I never got to ask a single question.
I have had a full thyroid panel. All normal in mid range.
I just got the MRI report. Neuro said not MS, it says
Two Tiny cortical White matter Lesions in the left centrum semiovale which are non specific and my be related to early demyelinations versus gliosis secondary to small vessel disease. Correlation is recommended clinically. No intercranail Masses. Minimal right mastoiditis.
Neuro just said not MS, what do they mean??
Thanks
Silvia
Thanks snooze,
This has been going on for over 2 months, going on 3. My thyroid panel has always been very stable, but you never know. Let me know what your endocrinologist says
Thanks
Silvia
I just went through the very same thing. Actually still feeling pretty restless and wired up, but much better.
I think it's a thyroid storm (meaning you are highly hyperthyroid). See www.emedicine.com/EMERG/topic269.htm
I'm pretty certain that it means that we had been hypothyroid before (I know I am, not sure whether you had the diagnosis) and now our thyroid is coming back online in a very big way. By the way, thyroid tests are not necessarily true reflections of your actual thyroid state. See www.planetherbs.com/articles/thyroid.html for a discussion of why functional symptoms are a better basis for diagnosing thyroid problems than a thyroid test.
This will surprise you. I think it means that we are finally getting well. Now the trick is to stay on this side of wellness so that we never have to go through this again. I have been terribly sick for the past 6 days; I never want to have this again.
Think about how you came back from vacation relaxed, happy, and then all of the sudden you had an attack. Same thing happened to me. We were on vacation, I felt great, I was so happy and then all of the sudden I was twitching everywhere and I was absolutely scared to death I had some dreadful disease. But now I know -- I was actually getting well! Shocking concept. Muscles that had been weak for years were now firing up to their full potential! Stomach acids working again. Have you had an itchy scalp? (essential fatty acids working again). Wish I'd known what was happening the first time but all my research happened after that first attack. Now I know I sent myself back into illness with all my worrying about new symptoms.
This is pretty rough to get through though. Going to the endocrinologist today -- I'll let you know what I learn. Hope you are feeling better.

Just got a call from Dr. office. MRI mostly normal, but two small white spots showed up. I will see a neuro tomorrow. I am trying to stay relaxed.
