Tremors troubling

by Petie61, Mar 22, 2008 12:47PM
In1993, after 1 yr. of talk therapy for anorexia, I started Zoloft.  Zoloft helped, and I followed with 4 yrs. continued therapy. Eating disorder completed ended. It was 50 mg. for most of the 15 yrs. until recently upped.

Last summer new gp put me up to 200mg. Also synthroid dose tripled to 150 mcg. I've had noticeable hand and head tremors for 5-8 yrs. Now, they are worse than ever, embarrassing. My head shakes like I'm 90 yrs. old! I'm also quite keyed up, happier than ever in my life, but my mind is spinning and I am operating on uncomfortable anxiety. I have seen my gp 3x during the last yr....last time she said she didn't want me off zoloft and gave me alprolazam for my shaking. I'm too young for this. Sleeping is ok, not great.

MRI cleared me of any issues. I believe I need an anitidepressant, but is it wise to be on something for so long? Also, I've had ultrasound on thyroid gland, just lots of benign nodules. I've been on synthroid over 10yrs. And, I'm afraid the damage has been done to my nervous system.

My gp says she likes the higher doses of synthroid because it gives her energy (I was so wired as an anorexic I sure don't want that life now). She is very attentive to me, which I appreciate. I'm looking to calm my tremors, even though I have accepted them as familial to a point.

I'm so anxious, I drive myself crazy. I posted on member pg, but meant to post here. I'm new.
Help.
