Trigeminal Neuralga

My wife has been taking Tegretol 200mg X 3 tines a day, this has caused her to be disorientated and nauseous & still in pain, she is trying Trileptal 300mg X 3, whilst cutting out the Tegretol. My question is how much Trileptal can she take ??????

Thank you for that Nancy, we are seeing both a Neurologist & a neurosurgeon, but getting to see them is another thing, we have a MRI in two days then wait to get an appointment, I just didn't want her to take to much medication, Thanks again, Ross

I was recently told by my doctor that I could take up to 2100 mg of Trileptal per day.  However, you should check with your wife's physician.  You need to slowly increase this type of medication.  You really need the doctor's instructions.
