Trileptal caused palsy in leg -Peroneal Neuropathy

by MsVickie, Sep 30, 2009 01:30AM
My son took Trileptal for 3 months, then developed Peroneal Neuropathy in his right leg. We strongly believe this was caused by Trileptal, because they show a side effect of "ataxia" which is closely related to peroneal neuropathy. Ataxia means the brain is not telling the limbs what to do, it is basically brain damage.  We beleive that the Trileptal messed with the part of the cerebellum in the brain, and now it is not telling the peroneal nerve what to do.  THe peroneal nerve runs down your leg, and is connected to the sciatic nerve.  My son can't move his foot at all, he has a walking gait (also shown as a side effect) and is basically crippled.

We want to find an attorney to sue Novartis for this crippling disease.  Any help would be appreciated.
