Twitches and uncontrollable facial movement

My son is 7 months and he recently started doing something with his mouth which seems uncontrollable and not normal to me.  He stretched his mouth outward and hold his arm in a stiff position for like 2 seconds and then its over.  Sometimes it happens consecutively.  Before this mouth episode he has this twitch that happens like a person does when they get a chill and his head and body will just shake for 2 seconds as well.  I am worried that there is something wrong with him and I want to catch it early if there is, but I dont know what it is.
He responds to his name, he eats regularly, he lifts up like doing a push up and he has gotten up in the crawling position once in a while but is not crawling yet.  He does although get startled very easily.  I am worried.

Hi there.

From what you have described, I believe it is best to have him checked by her doctor.  This could really be just a normal occurrence but it is important to consider other causes such as a form of seizure.  From the doctor's physical and neurologic test alone, he may be able to pinpoint the possible problems.  For now, make sure he gets adequate nutrition and rest.

Regards and God bless.
