Your questions are quite valid. They would, however, be better answered by the surgeon who operated on your elbow. He or she would better know what was encountered anatomically at surgery that may cause the popping in your elbow. Pain usually does not radiate up to the shoulder after these procedures, but again, your surgeon would be a better source for such information.
