Use of ABCR's with brain tumor

I've read brain tumors must be ruled out when ABCR's are being considered.
Why?
And is it dangerous for an individual to use an ABCR if they DO have a brain tumor?
Do the ABCR's affect brain tumors and somehow change the tumor's function? ie. if the tumor is a hormonal tumor, will the hormones excreted by the tumor change?

I assume the abbreviation you are referring to is birth control medication. If an individual without a history of breast or uterine cancer is starting medication then there is no need to check for brain tumors. However, in some breast or uterine cancers there are hormone sensitive cells. If you have a primary brain tumor then there should be no change in the tumor related to the hormones, however cancer and hormones can increase the risk of developing blood clots.
