Vertigo

My Doctors have been unable to find a cause...or a cure...for my Vertigo. I have been plagued with this condition for over one year and am unable to work as a Cosmetologist.  I need Medical help.  The various traditional medications prescribed for Vertigo have not been successful for me.  An MRI showed 'white spots' on the brain but the Neurologist dismissed that as a cause....also middle ear problems have been ruled out.  (I think it is just another symptom of Fibromyalgia but I seem to be the only one who thinks so!)

Hi, Thank you so much for your question. I can understand your worrying health concern about vertigo. Although without being able to examine you it will be quite difficult for us to give you a precise diagnosis here. Since you've had dizziness and balancing problem for so long it is unlikely to go away, but in most of the people it may still slowly improve after few years. It sounds like that you have benign positional vertigo but if you are significantly affected then I would suggest approaching a physiotherapist for treatment, He/She would like to suggest few exercises that may be of help in your condition. These exercises may help in improving vestibular nerve (Nerve involves in balance) function so the condition. In addition, I would suggest getting a neurologist opinion here as well in order to get complete neurological assessment and further approach. Hope this helps.

Sorry I was not more specific.  Yes, I do have Fibro and have had for a number of years.  However, it is progressing and I have a lot of pain and the Vertigo is certainly adding to the misery!
I do have a copy of the MRI and it means nothing to me! However, the Neurologist was not concerned: said it was an old 'condition' and not specific to any health related problem.  He said a spinal tap would be the only way to rule out MS but he didn't recommend it because he didn't think I had MS and it didn't relate to causing the Vertigo. He recommended I go to a Pain Clinic and/or a Rheumatologist.
that will accept Medicaid. (The Medicaid Office sends a list of participating Doctors only I was informed that they DO NOT accept medicaid when I made contact.).
MRI Report: MRI OF THE BRAIN WITH AND WITHOUT CONTRAST   1,  Scattered abnormal foci of T2 Hyperintensity in both Periventricular location and white matter tracts as discussed above.  There is additional involement of the pons and medulla.  These are abnormal.  Nonspecific findings and may represent demyelinating process such as Multiple Sclerosis.  2.  There are no areas of abnormal Restricted Diffusion.  3.  Minimal paranasal sinus inflammatory changes as noted above.  4.  Findings were discussed with Dr, ____. (An ENT Specialist). Neurologic consultation with close clinical and imaging follow up is recommended.
(Dr. ENT recommended a Neurologist and the Neurologist recommended a Pain Clinic to control the pain of FM or an RA Specialist. ( As of this date I have been unable to find either that will accept Medicaid.)
I am sorry this is so lengthy but I appreciate any help you can provide! suzy1005

P.S.  This MRI Report was summarized on page 2:  page 1 relates the TECHNIQUE and FINDINGS which I will send to you if you think it will help or if you have the time to consider it.  Thanks Again!

I am confused.  Do you have Fibro?

Do you have a copy of the MRI report?  If you do, can you type out the final impression.
