Very weak/sore bicep after execise

Hi there,

Im a 30 year old male, I never exercised alot but when I started to become fat I decided to do something. I got myself a bench with some weights and a bar. I started with 10kg biceps and benches aswell. It went well for a week, it was very painful but I seemed to manage quite well. But now for the past 2 days my biceps wont even lift 1kg. Did I overdo it with the biceps because I can still do the benches. The pain in my biceps has gone away and I dont even feel strain anymore, but for some reason I cannot lift anything with a bicep curl. Have the muscles become "lazy" or did I injure myself? Help would be appreciated.

You probably have biceps tendonitis.
Attempting to lift heavy weights with a muscle that is not correctly warmed up makes one prone to this muscle damage Overhead activities and lifting must be avoided at first when one is in convalescence with biceps tendonitis. Treatment consists of activity modification, anti-inflammatory measures, heat and cold modalities, and exercise program for promoting strength and flexibility of shoulder .You should consult a physiotherapist and undergo rehabilitation exercises.
