Vestibular ischemia vs vertigo

by joanne48, Nov 10, 2008 07:22PM
Upon a change in position (from prone to supine during a massage at a spa) I was hit hard with dizziness and nausea/vomiting.  This was over 5 weeks ago and thankfully I am slowly getting a bit better, but some symptoms are not gone.  I have had an on and off lighthead feeling, light, visual and sound sensitivity, lessening blurred vision and the worst has been a cognitive thinking problem with short term memory and inability to think clearly.  No fainting or facial numbness present.

I have seen ENT and even had seen  a doc that ordered a MRI and MRA and both are ok. I did see a vestibular rehab therapist today and my vestibular testing to both ears was abnormal with a "flattened response". Could this have been a transient ischemic event with the neck manipulation?

Thank you,
Joanne
