Vision Problems

Dear Members,
       I am 23 yr old male, in good health. For past 3 months i am having a strange vision problem. Normally i can see well and have a 20/20 vision, but the problem starts when i close one of my eye and see with the other eye, the problem is same for both the eyes.
        What happens is that when i see through one eye( keeping one eye closed), after say 30 sec starting at a point, i see a lot of noise in front of my opened eye, which eventually blackens my central vision, just as i open the other eye (which i kept closed) the problem goes away and i see absolutely normal.
         I cannot understand why is this happening, it is normal or not. Associated with this i also have floaters in both eyes, and light sensitivity.
        If anyone can share some thoughts on this problem it will be really helpful.

         I am also from india, i live in kolkata. Thank you for your sugesstion i will start by seeing a retina specialist.

     Thank you for your suggestion, ya i have been to an opthalmologist, i am planning to get my retina checked. i would post after that.

Hi there. The errors in binocular vision could be related to ambylopia, which is a disorder of visual system that is characterized by poor or indistinct vision in an eye that is otherwise physically normal. Floaters can be due to various causes like vitreous shrinkage, posterior vitreous or retinal detachments, retinal tears. a slit lamp examination would be required to check the cause. Photosensitivity could be due to various causes related to the eye, nervous system and other causes. like cataracts, viral conjunctivitis, eye trauma, optic neuritis, retinal neuritis, autism, meningitis, other systemic issues like ankylosing spondylositis, chronic fatigue syndrome, magnesium deficiency, migraine etc. Consult an ophthalmologist for a clinical evaluation and systemic examination to arrive at the diagnosis .take care.

You need a thorough eye exam now.  I don't think this is a "dry eye problem."  Was the physician you have seen an Ophthalmologist?  You need you eyes dilated and and your retinas checked.  I would seek a second opinion really soon.

Dear Londres70,
        Thank you for suggesting. yaa i have seen a eye MD last month after i had malaria , i told him about my problems , he said i have dry eyes and gave refresh tear drops, he did not dilate my eye , he examined it under a opthalmoscope. I dont have glasses or contacts. But i think floaters are not related to dry eyes, so i am concerned.

You are too young to be having floaters, etc.  Please have your eyes assessed by a Ophthalmologist.  

Have you seen an eye specialist in the past?  Glasses?  Contacts?
