200mgs of Armour is a huge dose.  What is your weight?  Thyroid medicine can kill.  A low TSH can mean you are overdosing.

Kathy, some of your symptoms align with either a small stroke or further coronary problems.  Whether you have medical insurance coverage or not, I'd advise you to promptly visit an Urgent Care Clinic or hospital ER.

Like I said, didn't mean to pick on you, but thought I should check.

For my info:  which med are you on specifically for fibromyalgia?  For that matter, if you don't mind posting this information in a public forum, could you list all meds and dietary supplements here, along with dose per day?  It shouldn't be too hard to look up interaction effects, and those could be a possible part of your overall issues.

I'm very doubtful that I "know more" than your DO about TSH response to "Armor" (sp?).  I definitely don't recognize that medication name as a thyroid med.  Check the bottle please, if you decide to come back with a meds dose list. And be careful of accepting any opinion that I offer as a layman who reads medical literature.  I could be missing something that would be obvious to a licensed physician.

Are you seeing a psychiatrist for supportive therapy or medication management?  The two practices are quite different.  For anybody trained in meds management, assignment of your type of symptoms to "stress" without a battery of verification tests, should be considered gross malpractice, in my personal opinion.

IM NOT A  GREAT SPELLER!!! ill let you know when im not treated as a head case and get some answers. the TSH levels keep getting brushed off by my DO as nothing because she says im on 200 mg of armor and 50 mg of cytomel for hypothyroid and that would cause my TSH to be consistently low, but it seems that you have more knowledge in this field than her, and called my psychiatrist  old school, IM IN PAIN AND STESSED, AND NO ANSWERS, GO FIGURE. hence nursing school.

Kathy - are you keying on a phone,  I-Pad or Blackberry? Please understand that I'm not just being picky with you. I see enough keying and spelling errors in your text to wonder if something might be going on in your cognitive thinking.  I would not expect an adult nursing student to misspell "psychiatrist" [at least, not if she expects to graduate!].   If you don't mind my asking, why are you seeing a pshrink, and isn't this one an MD?  ANY MD can order MRI, unless you happen to be in Canada or the UK. Something isn't making sense for me here.

If you're getting funny results on tests of thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), then my overall impression is that you might need to see an endocrinologist rather than either a GP or psychiatrist.  Do try to get back and let us know how you work this out...

thanks, i went to the hospital because my headach was taking over and the numbness wasnt subsiding and they gave me migrain meds and said find a neurologist they didnt do any scans saying i didnt have any neurological signs, and my doc just gave me fiblomialga medication saying i think you have this, I DONT HAVE THAT, i have buldged discs, i have really lost my docs faith and iuts tiring i work 6 days a week and go to pre nursing school along with 2 kids and a husband, i dont have time to be numb and have major headachs and get brushed of by docs, im frustrated, but iu guess ill surch out a neurologist, my schchiatrist thinks i have a petuitary problem because my tsh levels are non existent, but im on hight doses of thyroid meds which may cause the no tsh factor my regular doc says, there at battle with each other over this issue, but the scychiatrist says he cant order any brain mris or anything, in any case im rambling, thanks for your inmut, kathy

In my personal opinion from 15 years of reading the literature of neurological pain syndromes as a layman, the patterns of pain and numbness you are reporting are NOT NOT NOT consistent with "stress".  Your doc appears to be brushing you off as a head case.  If you were in my family, I'd be suggesting that his hind quarters be kicked into next week.

You need a second opinion ASAP by a qualified neurologist. The bulging discs in your back could indeed have something to do with these peripheral symptoms.  You may need detailed evaluation by an orthopedist, to assess possible nerve pinch.

Get moving.  Don't give up.  Don't be intimidated into silence.  There is something fundamentally wrong going on.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Thank you for your question. Although without being able to examine you I can not offer you the specific advice on diagnosis and treatment that you need, but I would try to provide you some relevant information about your health concern.

From, your description of symptoms, it appears that you are experiencing unexplained one sided muscle weakness or paralysis of the face that is called Bell’s palsy (inflammation of 7th cranial nerve). On the other hand, this may be Trigeminal neuralgia as you have typical one sided facial numbness extending to temple and eye( ophthalmic branch of trigeminal nerve may be involved) and sore gums of the teeth of same side (maxillary branch of 5th nerve). Trigeminal neuralgia may have a triggering factor like recent history of tooth extraction, touch, cold breeze or hot sensation etc. which you need to evaluate and avoid. . I would recommend you to see a neurologist who can evaluate the details of your case and could better determine the insight of your situation. Hope this helps.

As an alternative to Bell's Palsy, a proper neurological exam will also evaluate for hemi-facial spasm or trigeminal neuralgia due to inflammation of one of the cranial nerves. You are well advised to eliminate tumor and stroke, of course -- but it is rare for such causes to affect only the face in isolation from other areas of the body.

You should have it checked out by your physician to rule out something serious such as a tumor or stroke.  But most likely it's Bell's Palsy, in which the facial nerve on one side is temporarily paralyzed.  Fortunately, it's usually self-limiting and goes away on its own, even though it may take several inconvenient weeks.

Have it checked out however.
