I've had two sleep studies and they found nothing. It seems neurological as my symptoms of weakness, and pain and sleepiness behind one eye are often present during the day. I have been screened for MS (MRI showed nonspecific white matter but neurologist said not MS), and I have gone to a gastroenterologist and ent and the both say no reflux. I appear to sleep all night, but not refreshingly. Again, seems to be neurological. The only thing that has shown up was a low tsh=0.032 FT4>7.7, then a retest at tsh=0.132 FT4=1.77 (upper limit of normal). Neurologist says I am hyperthyroid and that explains many of my symptoms. I am seeing an endocrinologist next week, but I don't know if this would explain all of my symptoms, particularly since they seem so one sided sometimes.
Hi!
The symptoms can be due to insomnia or due to sleep disturbances, bad gastric reflux, hyperthyroidism or due to anxiety. Sleep with head end raised and eat small and frequent meals. Avoid smoking, alcohol and fuzzy drinks. Eat less of oily and spicy food and see if your symptoms improve. Otherwise, you may need blood tests and sleep studies to rule these out. Since a confirmed diagnosis cannot be given on net please consult your doctor regarding these possibilities. Hope this helps. Take care!
