What can be used to rule out MS?

What else can be used to rule out MS other than MRI and lumbar puncture?  Other than clinical symptoms, what can be used to assist with the diagnosis?  Just want to make sure everything that I have done so far is leading me in the right direction.

What's the correlation between MRI's being normal and positive diagnosis of MS?  Is there any?

I am not sure what you mean by a weak correlation of ms with mri brain and spinal cord.
I thought that mri was the gold standard for dx along with clinical signs for ms dx.

Hello.

MS is usually a diagnosis of exclusion. There are certain other investigations. EMG and Nerve conduction study is one of them. These two studies help us understand the cause. With EMG, we can rule out a muscular problem. With NCS we can rule out peripheral neuropathy.

There's a weak correlation of MS with MRI brain and spinal cord. Some studies have found a 30% correlation whereas other have mentioned close to 50% correlation.
