A lesion is any physically distinct and identifiable pathology. It can be a muscle, bone, blood vessel, lymph nodeLymph node biopsy Swollen glands Swollen lymph nodes in the groin Swollen lymph nodes under arm, nerve or any other structure. With the information that you have given, it is difficult for me to go any further in speculating about the cause for your pain. The neurologist might give you more information looking at yout CT scan.
Hi, I too have had a headache for over a month... I finally went to a chriopractor and it did nothing for it. So the next day went to the doc and he said from my description which is just like yours that it was a tension stress headache. I take .5mg ativan a day for a few years. He said im prescribing you some stuff I told i cant take alot of things because of my heart arrthymias which he knows about. he said im prescribing you something you already take. which was ativan which is f or anxiety and it also helps relax muscles. so instead of two pills a day i take three, he also said dehydration will do this too. he said to drink drink lots of water... so i have been lots of water and three ativans a day and guess what no headache. im not good at drinking water.. But ibuprohen didnt help or extra strength tylenol didnt help. I was at a loss. But gosh it really helped me alot. So drink drink maybe it will help you too. good luck

Also he did say that when your dehydrated like I was it constrict the blood vessles which there are lots to the brain and he said your brain needs to float.
Thanks so much for your response. I go see the nurologis on the 3rd of april and will keep you updated.
Its funny you talk about dehydration because I honestly forget to drink water. I should drink more and I will and see if it helps.
I actually thought it was getting better, but I had that MRI and it starting hurting again. The ache is always there, but touching it and feeling the pain shoot through my head is very unnerving.
The doctor told me today that it looks like a bony lesion, but he was reluctant to say more and just siad to be sure I keep my appointment because it could be serious condition. Im taking two Fioricet at a time, but it does not seem to help much.
I am so greatful to those doctors up at the walk-in Urgent Care. They really work so hard to get to the bottom of things. I have been telling my GP for a while now that my neck was hurting and head was hurting off and on and my vision is periodically blurred. Emergancy room dubbed me a pill seeker. Gp said it was stress. I do not think stress shows up as a bony lesion on the base of your skull, but what do I know. I just feel it every day.
This is turning into a rant. I will keep you guys informed and thank you again for your input and concern, it is much appreciated.
I have 3 lesions on my brain, yet my neurologist is not worried about them, despite the symptoms I have that seem to resemble MS...so I joined this site to see if anyone has been told the same thing...it's very frustrating!! I need to get a 2nd opinion, but I am in nursing school right now and it's hard with not having enough free time to keep going from doctor to doctor. I hope you get a good neurologist. Don't give up if this one can't help you. I have to remember that!
Has your doctor tested you for Lymes? MS and Lymes looks a lot alike under CT scan and you can have some neurological symptoms if it goes untreated. The test that the doctors have for Lymes is a little sketchy so I would suggest if you think it is a possibility you could have contracted Lymes. I would go the private route. There are companies out there with much better tests for Lymes. Many people have been told they have MS or presented with MS symptoms to later find out they had Lymes.
What are your symptoms?
Well my mother in-law is the daughter of a well know Neurologist names Dr. Dejong and because of this she knows lots of really good neurologists and I am considering seeing one of the men she has mentioned to me. I will first see this guy that is local and if it is serious I will be going to Ann Arbor.
Hi there! I was tested for Lyme disease last semester. It was a blood test...Lyme titre was the name of it. Does that ring a bell?? My nursing professor even asked me if I was tested for Lyme disease since they both closely resemble one another. I was diagnosed with a vitamin b12 deficiency last semester and now my levels are back to normal since I have been taking sublingual b12.
My symptoms include chronic vertigo that never ever goes away, and if it does, it's not for very long. I constantly feel like I am getting off an escalator or on a boat that will not stop rocking, along with tremendous pressure in my head, like my head feels like it weighs less than a feather! I fell down on campus a few weeks ago, it was terrible! I have a terrible time swallowing, very sensitive to hot temperatures, my balance always feels off, tingling and sharp pain in my fingers, bowel issues, extreme fatigue even after sleeping for 10 hours straight, to name a few.
I saw a neurologist in my area of town and he was not convinced that anything was severely wrong with me. For the past 2 weeks, I've been seeing a chiropractor neurologist and he found out that my spine is actually out of alignment as well, right at the base of my neck with my cervical vertebra. I have no curvature in my neck and my C2-axis vertebrae is very out of alignment! I have no back pain at all, so that was odd!
