What is gong on with my legs?

Hello,
One week ago today, my right knee suddenly started hurting.  I got up off of the couch to walk up the steps to the bedroom and in doing so notices that my knee felt really sore, like I had maybe sprained something although I hadn't done anything.  That night my knee ached throughout the night keeping me awake.  For the next three days or so, my kne ached off and on but mostly seemed to hurt when my knee was bent and I rotated my lower leg and/or when I bent down and put pressure directly on my knee.  On the fourth day my knee seemed to be completely fine.  Then, yesterday both my right and left leg began to ache.  It is just a dull aching feeling but it doesn't seem to go away.  If I had to say I would say that it seems to be a little worse behind my knees and then extends up and down the back of my leg from there.  There is no shooting or jabbing pain but rather just an ongoing, annoying aching feeling.

I am 38 years old and in good health.  I have not injured my knees or legs in any way recently.  I have tried taking Ibuprofen 800 mg but it doesn't seem to provide much relief.  Any suggestions?
Thank you.
