What is this pain behind my knee, burning sensation, up my thigh & lower back

I get this burning sensation behind my left knee with an ache down my left leg going up my thigh to my lower back.
It really gets it's worse at bedtime, the pain awakes me every night at 2:30-3:30am & 5:00am. Predisone dosage worked the first three days but then the pain came back. I tried every other pain reliever & it didn't work. I just had an MRI an everything was fine so nothing is wrong there. So the doctor recommends a neurologist. Is any one having these same symptoms & can help me with a solution. I need relief, please. I'm in so much pain & discomfort.

The common cause of behind knee pain along with leg and back pain may be formation of a cyst at the back of the knee. Other causes could be Peripheral neuropathy, Sciatica, Stroke and many other causes. Did you go for an MRI of the leg? MRI of the leg as well as spine are necessary for the diagnosis.
