What is wrong here?

I have been experiencing pain, numbness and tingling in the area between my neck and the back of my left shoulder off and on for almost 3 years now.  I have seen a Chiropracter in the past, but the symptoms have never gone away.  Recently, I went to see an orthopaedic surgeon who told me that all my x-rays of the neck looked normal and that there may be nothing that I can do to alleviate the symptoms that I was experiencing.  I just want to know what is wrong with me.  The pain comes and goes, but I seem to deal with it on a consistent basis.  Please help.  What could be the cause of my symptoms?  Who should I see to get some sort of relief or diagnosis?

Hi, You may probably having nerve compression on one side. It is advisable you go in gor MRI cervical region and seek second opinion of orthopedician as some times x-rays may not be more conclusive, otherwise how are you doing now. Physical therapy or massage therapy can be considered. Take care and keep updating about visit.

Hi Bella,
How are you feeling?
I am sorry to say but all patients who presents with such symptoms I tell them that pain, tingling and numbness are signs of neuropathy. Nerve involvement may be single (mono-neuropathy) or multiple (poly-neuropathy).
This can be due to Diabetes, Prediabetes, Vitamin deficiency, and altered blood pressure status, any nutritional deficiency, and abnormal endocrine status, compression of nerve or impingement of nerve at time of exit from Vertebrae.
I think in your case it appears to be due to nerve compression due any spinal disc pathology at cervical level.
I think you should be doing an MRI study to see for any pathology involved.
You should be consulting a neurologist and an orthopaedician at earliest.
Keep me informed if you have any queries.
Bye.
