What to do next?

by heather liz, Dec 18, 2006 12:00AM
I went to the hospital with a fever and a complaint I was not feel well.  Shortly after I went to our small local hospital I had nausea and was wheezing.  I told them I didnt want to go home because I had a headache.  A few day later I had a stiff neck, stiff tight lower legs and was very week.  I also had chest tightness.  I was then sent to a larger hospital.  On the ride there with my neighbor my chest was continually tightening making me jolt in the car.  Upon arrival at the hospital my neck was solid stiff as well as my legs.  I was made to wait in the waiting room for probably an hour.  The other things that were going on were difficulty breathing and I had burning that was going from my legs up my spine into my head.  I walked to the room with these still legs and stiff neck.  The doctor did some checks.  I could not move my head to either side and he did checks on my legs.  I remember when he shone the big light in my eyes I immediately put my arm over my eyes and was now in a really state of confusion.  He began asking me questions that I just could not answer.  I was then sent for a CT.  My neighbor was crying she thought I was going to die.
A LP was done. After recently obtaining the results I found out that 9 RBC were found.  There was no culture or proper checks done the CFS Fluid was hemolyzed.  The CT scan showed I had a sinus infection and I was then given 1 Cipro and a perscripton for 4 Zithromax.  My neck had been stiff for at least five hours
at this point.  My blood pressure was up and the nurse noted I had uncontrollable shakiness.  I was sent home.
